Mosul Maqam Oud Classes

Led by renowned Oud instructor Rasool Alawan who has previously taught at the Arab Oud House, these sessions explore the art of playing the oud, reading musical notation, and delving into the expressive world of Maqam. Participants will engage in discussions on musical performance and artistic expression, immersing themselves in the cultural depth of Iraqi musical heritage. Supported by the British Council’s Cultural Protection Fund in partnership with the UK government’s Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports, these courses offer a comprehensive experience for music enthusiasts. The sessions are held at the Volunteer with Us headquarters at Bayt AlTawalib.
