Ramiz Al-Rawi Collection
Biography
Ramiz al-Rawi is one of the few remaining Maqam reciters in Mosul and a distinguished expert in the Mosuli Maqam tradition. He has supported the project from its inception and has taught over 50 students at Mosul University in courses focused on Mosuli Maqam. His collection of recordings includes powerful performances of Maqam that he performed both during exile and while yearning for Mosul, preserving and sharing the emotional depth of this rich musical heritage.
